OVERVIEW:                         
MARCUS is the first restaurant in the DMV area from acclaimed chef Marcus Samuelsson. Offering dining selections for any time of the day, the restaurant celebrates classic American dishes with the chef’s signature twist inspired by local Maryland ingredients and traditions. Designed by Parts & Labor Design, the restaurant's aesthetic focuses on a rediscovery of American craft rooted in African American influences, which are felt vividly through dynamic details including geometric floor tiles, tribal tapestries, found objects, and custom fixtures. Invoking a French bistro, the space includes an 84-seat main dining room with wooden coffered ceilings and a deep amber color palette as well as an open kitchen and raw bar. The space additionally includes a 21-seat bar with brasserie style lightning fixtures, walls adorned with colonial millwork, an eye-catching spindle installation and a stone bar top. The back of the restaurant features French colonial sliding door that opens up to Sammy's, a prohibition-style supper club with built-in bookcases and custom chandeliers, that offers live musical acts reminiscent of Harlem's blues clubs.
